Symbology -
Scarab beetles - Egyptians carried scarab talismans to help guide them through life with clarity and purpose. They were symbols of Renewal and Rebirth and thought to be a manifestation of the Sun god Ra. They also held the energy of inner strength, perseverance and arising from difficulties - similar to lotus symbolism, the scarab beetles rose with the sun - out of waste and found life. Linked to the god Khephri - Egyptians believed that he rose every morning, as the sun, out of "nowhere" - Just as the beetles found new life after rising from filth.
Scarab beetles are also considered symbols of the never-ending cycle of cosmic life - resurrection/rebirth and immortality. The beetles life cycle was seen as a representation of the immortality of the soul and the idea of rebirth after death.
They were also worn as symbols of good luck and fortune - due to the beetles intelligence and devotion - key aspects to guide individuals to achieve great success.
Eye of Horus -
A powerful ancient symbol - representing protection, health/healing and restoration.
Mythology tells that Horus lost his left eye in a struggle with Seth. This eye was magically restored by Hathor - which led to the symbolism of repair, healing and complete well-being.
Amulets and talismans have since been worn to provide good luck, protection and healing of mind/body and soul.
